London & Middlesex Squash Coach Tony St Louis attended the LYG Inspire Schools Festival to give London Primary schoolchildren a chance to try rackets-based activities using mini walls, smaller rackets and bouncier balls.
11 primary schools (groups of 30) came from Barnet, Brent, Camden, Kensington, and Chelsea, Ealing, Hammersmith, and Fulham to try a range of sports of which outdoor squash was one.
Each school had 30 minutes trying each activity on a carousel basis.
The children really enjoyed the opportunity to try something different in a non-traditional setting.
Vickie Prow (Middlesex Junior Development Officer) will be following up with each school in partnership with the London Youth Games to develop further relationships with schools for further potential outreach activities
